Andrea Aveni, postdoc
Andrea is employed from 1 May 2025 as a postdoc working with Professor Martin Bladt in the Insurance and Economics Section.

Andrea was born 1995 in Treviso near Venice, Italy. He started his education at Bocconi (Milan, Italy), where he studied Bayesian non-parametrics with Professors A. Lijoi and I. Pruenster. Then he went to Duke University (USA), where he completed his PhD under the supervision of the late Professor S. Mukherjee, working on Uniform consistency and CLTs for generalized Fréchet means. Here, he also got a concurrent Master's in mathematics.
“My interests lie at the intersection of probability and other fields of maths. In particular, I'm interested in the study of inference on spaces displaying some geometric or algebraic regularity.
“In my free time, I like going to the gym, hiking, watching movies, and reading about ancient history. I have two wonderful black cats”, says Andrea.
